Extra Fuel

EXTRA
Additional fuel loaded at the discretion of the flight crew. I'm hoping someone could kindly share there personal ballpark figures for the 737 800W

...kg per minute of potential extra holding

...kg per potential extra approach

... minutes extra holding when LVPs are expected at destination

...kg per minute of extra anticipated anti-ice usage

...kg per minute of extra anticipated APU usage

Regards.

Roughly 40kg per minute holding (eg 30 min final reserve fuel is ca 1200kg)
Expect to use about minimum 600kg extra for a go-around and second approach without additional delay and depending on the length of the missed approach procedure.
APU uses about 150kg/hour ballpark figure
For remote de-icing with engines running with no extra delay add about 300kg, if deicing on stand, see APU burn figure for about 15 min extra if no delay.

Great figures thanks alot.

For remote de-icing with engines running with no extra delay add about 300kg

Is this when at the stand and PAX on board with engines running? sorry not sure about this procedure?

Whats the difference with remote deicing and deicing on the stand?

Thanks.

On stand after doors are closed the deicing trucks will come on stand and do their thing. Meanwhile you only have the APU running to provide electrics which does not require that much fuel. When they are done you pushback and start engines.

Remote deicing you pushback and start engines, taxi to the deice platform usually located close to the beginning of the runway and you stand there with running engines while you get deiced. And even at idle you burn 600kg of fuel per hour. So you need to take some extra fuel in that case, especially if there are other aircraft in the queue as well to deice at the remote platform. About 300kg extra usually covers it (depending the airport you are at etc.)

Are these figures right for inflight...

3kg per minute of extra anticipated anti-ice usage

Also are all these figures per engine or both engines?

Thanks alot for the help.

Driver, considering you can fly your sim for free, why not do some flight testing and see what your actual burns are? Not much point carrying 40kg per minute for holding if the aeroplane you are flying actually burns 60/minute.

Yeh whats the worst that could happen!

So are all these figures per engine/hr ? And are you saying the 800W burns 60kg per min on each engine?

Cheers

I'm going to be doing Raw Data ILS app and hoping someone could provide me ball park figures for N1% and attitude?

Cheers.
