Hi all,
I looking for the Virgin atlantic 787 registrations if anyone knows them? I have the first
G-VNEW
Does anyone have the rest of them?

Don't know all of them but one will be:

G-VCRU named 'Olivia-Rae'.

This one is in rememberance of a Cabin Crew member that passed away recently under tragic circumstances.

Which of course only gives currently registered or de-registered aircraft on the UK register, hence the Virgin 787s are not on there yet....

There was a time when I wondered if Mixture was an alias for Krystal and Chips, but then I realised that Mixture knows what he's talking about most of the time, and his replies make sense.

Jethros gives G-VNEW and G-VAHH as two of the registrations, no others listed at present.

Not in this case though. He was wrong, and employed his usual snarky manner in the process.

If they're not registered or de-registered then they're not really registrations are they ! :ugh:

There are more than enough spotter websites out there that will list unofficial information on upcoming aircraft.... and even planespotters dot net doens't list the regs yet ! It still shows their status as "on order".

Ownership is not Virgins, thus they have no authority to file registrations. The CAA won't treat Virgin any differently to anyone else. Virgin, like any other prospective owner, can apply for a six month "reservation" of the name.... but that is very different from formal registration and things may change and cause the "reservation" to be null and void since its not guaranteed ! You are also not allowed to display a mark that is merely "reserved" on an aircraft... for obvious reasons !

Therefore my pointing to GINFO was correct given the question posted. And the fact nothing was found there is in accordance with CAA rules as shown above, because the only option Virgin have is an informal "reservation".... very different kettle of fish, as outlined.

"Reservation" and "Registration" are two completely independent processes. There is no requirement to "Reserve" before you "Register". They are dealt with on a completely different legal basis and in a completely different manner.

Therefore

Is an incorrect statement. I was not wrong. My answering of the original question was 100% correct. Dave Cummings asked about REGISTRATIONS and he got an answer about REGISTRATIONS !

You can renew your registration reservation every six months for an indefinite period, provided you pay your £150 each time. I can't think of any circumstances that would cause the reservation not to be renewable.

The CAA differentiates between "registration" (the process of placing an aircraft on the UK civil register) and "registration mark" (the resulting G- mark that is chosen/allocated to the aircraft in question).

However most of us lesser mortals, and clearly that includes the OP, use "registration" to mean the actual G- registration mark involved. Hence the helpful responses from other posters who understood the question.

G-VNYL is pretty appropriate for a 787

Slightly " of topic " I know, but on which routes will these new aircraft be used and what aircraft, if any , will they displace from the current Virgin Atlantic fleet ?
