Boeing completes first 787-9
Boeing (NYSE: BA) rolled out the 787-9 in Everett, and crews are expected to fly the plane later this summer. It's scheduled to be delivered to launch customer Air New Zealand in the middle of next year.
The 787-9 carries 40 more people than the 787-8 and is 20 feet longer. The 787-9 can fly an additional 300 nautical miles than the 787-8. Boeing said the second and third 787-9 planes are in final assembly. http://assets.bizjournals.com/seattl...utside.jpg?v=1 |
That's a beautiful aircraft.
Question: does the "9" refer to all of those Li ion batteries being replaced by a bunch of nine volt batteries? :E:};) |
