Easyjet A320's

Hi everyone :)
As I never really fly much, can anyone tell me what routes Easyjet's A320's are utilised on? are they allocated to specific bases? Also, is Liverpool a A319 base?

Finally, do Easyjet still use the cost index of 12? Has the CI become route specific, seeing as they operate some very short and very long routes?

Thank you in advance :ok:

Hi, the A320's are mainly used on the longer sectors (ACE, FUE, BJV, PFO etc) and also popular routes at peak times.

At LPL easyJet normally base 5 A319's and 2 A320's. Recently they have started using cost index 5, especially on sectors with a tailwind. Otherwise its cost index 12.

Hope that helps,

An investor asked Carolyn about this recently regarding the NEO. The answer being that they need the aircraft to be interchangeable; it's not uncommon to go from being planned on a 319 to a 320 or vice versa, especially when there is disruption. The same goes for when the NEO is introduced - it won't be route or base specific.

The use of CI 5 seems to have become more and more widespread. It reverts to CI 12 if you're running behind schedule and with the permission of ops, goes to CI 50 with major delays.

Bristol has eight 319s and three 320s.

A glance at next week's Mayfly - see this link

Next Week's Mayfly | Bristol Airport Intranet

will show that the 320s are used on a wide range of routes, and not necessarily the same ones each day.

For instance on Monday of next week the 320s are allocated to the following routes:

Edinburgh
Murcia
Dalaman
Geneva
Berlin Schoenfeld
Funchal
Corfu
Prague
Edinburgh

The first and last EDI rotations of the day are 320s with the evening one being an EDI-based aircraft.

Thank you everyone, that information is great! :)

The Bristol Mayfly information is fantastic. Is it available for any other UK airports?

My thanks to you all again.

Hi does anyone know the current range of Cost Index's for easyJet? I hear 6 is now fairly standard?

I-WEBA 3rd Jun 2014 21:30

It varies, 6 or 12 depending on the route.
