Water Arch Salute for Easyjet A319 at Stansted

http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...g?t=1351958937Whilst waiting for a flight out of Stansted last Sunday - I witnessed a rare sight ( well I have only seen it once before in 40+ years of spotting !)

Two fire engines made an arch of water as G-EZFP taxied in to its stand - for Once I was in the right place at the right time - here's the image

Airbus A319-111, G-EZFP, EasyJet (U2 / EZY)

I understand that it may be to celebrate the retirement of a Senior Captain - Are there any Easyjet Crew on the Forum who can confirm this ? - as I would like to send the original image to the Captain if they are interested.

Any info would be gratefully rec'd

I was also lucky enough to see one such event. The piccy is nowhere near as good as yours but it is of G-BOAF approaching 27R at Heathrow prior to the very last Concorde flight of all time. It was taken with a telephoto lens from the 7th floor balcony of the "old" control tower:

Cool photos, both of you :)

Can't help with you wanting to pass the photo on Biggles, but I hope someone can, as it's a lovely thought to send it to the Captain concerned, should they want it :)

And they used 2 of their newest assets. The vehicles are only a few weeks old

I think that you forgot to add "to land at Filton" - that was the really historic part!;)

Correct. He's retired to his native NZ after 45 years and 22,700 hours flying.

2 s OK, but it was still the very last flight. A really cracking shot is of Concorde over the Avon Bridge, taken from above, on it's away to Filton. I can't post it here as it would infringe copyright but it must be on the internet somewhere.

"the very last Concorde flight of all time"

Really? Are you sure?

Of the 2 ex AF Concordes in Toulouse one, by all accounts, remains in a semi-airworthy condition and it was rumoured that it would fly again as part of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paris Olympics ..... alas some islanders thwarted that plan :)
