Do they use that callsign for training too rather than aircraft reg?

Only for CPL training, usually in the Duchess aircraft. PPL training uses the aircraft reg.

Of passing historic interest, Yorkair was also the call-sign used by Yorkshire Aeroplane Club, based at Yeadon/LBA, for many years prior to its demise.
