Dash8 Q300 and Q400 Cockpit width?

Hiya,

Please can anyone tell me the internal cockpit width of the Dash8 Q300 and 400 models? Approximate figures will be fine. Its for my home sim setup, as I'm making some mods to it.

Many thanks

Rory

While I do not have access to the maintenance drawings, it seems from the documentation I have at hand that the inner fuselage diameter is 251,4cm and the outer 269,2cm (or if You prefer, 99,0 and 106,0 inches). The fuselage keeps these values until the cockpit windows and only starts to slim down beginning from the rear window frame - the cockpit is remarkably spacious once one is seated.

Many thanks Sir! Most helpful. But to try and be more specific, as I can only model from the flight seats to the front windshield, due to space, can you approximate the width whilst sat in the flight seat? will it be around 7 or 8 feet?

For that I have no accurate figures from the manuals, but let me try a rough guess.

I am under the impression that the fuselage width stays nearly the same until past the pilots shoulders; it decreases by maximum 5 cm. The side window has an interesting shape; it is rather flat in the rear 2/3 and then slightly curved inboard in the forward third.

Maybe You will find the following picture of assistance as well with regards to the cockpit width in relation to the pilots. I cannot seem to get it to show in the thread, but here is a link.

Thankyou so much for helping, and thanks for that link - I actually flew on that one in 2005!

If you want, I can take a tape measure in when I'm at work next and get specifics for you. I'll need a shopping list of specific dimentions you want and I can then fill in the boxes...pm me with what you need.
