My friend, why would you come up with such an assumption? You of all (AAIB Investigator) should know not to assume....Facts and evidence... Oh and a laugh or two...just to keep yourself sane... :ok:

Simultaneous post Hetfield;

There is no sensation to it what so ever. That said I appreciate the fact that they might have had a smoke filled flight deck, they could have had pressurisation issues, we do not know. And out of respect to the handling crew who has most most probably acted according to protocol and initiated and completed a diversion to N. L. I cant stand for the "humourous" picture posted to salute the crew.

I don't assume anything, but if you don't report it, we can't investigate it...:}

I'm surprised no-one has jumped in yet to point out that it was an Airbus. On a Boeing, presumably the pilots would just have slapped on some gaffer tape and carried on to Gatwick.

Brenoch 11th Oct 2010 22:56

It's obvious that an etops flight can't cross the pond if cabin diff press is reduced due to cracked pane, flight alt is limited.
Do you know when it happened? If you do, I'd be the first in line to be enlightened...

Brenoch 11th Oct 2010 23:01

Ahh, overthewing

The Boeing/Airbus discussion is only valid when it comes to new products from the dream theater in Toulouse versus the, hmmm, semi-new Boeing kit...

You do assume, check post #21.... Anywho, have fun on the subject at hand! Cheers!

Brenoch 11th Oct 2010 23:10

Post #21 is authored by you Sir, and as such I can hardly accept any responsibility.

See you guys down in Jetblast soon, meanwhile try swallowing some warm olive oil to see if that rectally implanted wooden object can be dislodged at all.

Excuse my dumbness, I should have referred to your post, #20 , and asked you where you read that my career has been "trouble free". I sincerely doubt you're a AAIB investigator or a TRE/TRI, but anywho, who gives a ferk?

Brenoch 11th Oct 2010 23:20

Accounting on the fact that you've never heard of a shattered inner pane I dare to make the assumption (not as an AAIB-investigator) that you've never flown a jet aircraft in your life. If you have, you have had abysmal training...

Maurice Chavez 11th Oct 2010 23:25

My bad, let me go back playing with my Lego's.... I hope you find the root cause of this tragic event Mr. Brenoch. Cheers for now! :ugh:

Brenoch 11th Oct 2010 23:28

So far it has been proven to be "non-tragic", as an opposite to you... Back to the Lego's dear Sir...

Was all the rice recovered or not?

Lord Spandex Masher 11th Oct 2010 23:58

And was it Basmati or chicken fried?

Edit: In fact would you ever have a bag of chicken fried rice? Musta been Basmati!

+1 what he said. Good grief around here are some seriously way tight, thin skinned goobers.. New posting here, but have figured out PPRuNe must mean Pissed off Prunes, posting professionally, and we can't see that other part, RUMOUR network. I think it should be required to get a letter to the moderators of this site verifying employment as a PROFESSIONAL PILOT from employers before allowing mortals not vested with the lofty rank of Professional Pilot to post their preposterous tripe amongst these hallowed aviators.

What do I know about the professional pilot game anyhow. 30 year Airline pilot, 20 of it from the left seat; 10,000 some hours 757/767 as line CKA, with never a shattered or cracked pane.... but one actual cockpit fire.

I hear ya SKS777Flyer, I have been type rated on 5 transport category aircraft previously to the 757/767. In each type I had a cracked outer pane issue, once a short fire associated with an electrical short in the window heating system, but basically all minor events.
In over 8K hours on 757/767 - none, and I have'nt even heard of those in our airline, either officially or through the grapevine.
