There is no sensation to it what so ever. That said I appreciate the fact that they might have had a smoke filled flight deck, they could have had pressurisation issues, we do not know. And out of respect to the handling crew who has most most probably acted according to protocol and initiated and completed a diversion to N. L. What do I know about the professional pilot game anyhow. 30 year Airline pilot, 20 of it from the left seat; 10,000 some hours 757/767 as line CKA, with never a shattered or cracked pane.... but one actual cockpit fire.

I hear ya SKS777Flyer, I have been type rated on 5 transport category aircraft previously to the 757/767. In each type I had a cracked outer pane issue, once a short fire associated with an electrical short in the window heating system, but basically all minor events.
In over 8K hours on 757/767 - none, and I have'nt even heard of those in our airline, either officially or through the grapevine.
