Airbus Factory??

Just planing a little break away soon and was thinking of France. I always wanted to do to the Airbus Factory but i was wondering if any of ye had been already and what your opinions were on it.

There doesnt seem to be a previous link to any other thread on here and opinions from other website are pretty old and pre A380, dont think they give a fair reflection.

Ill be pleased to hear any reviews.

The TLS Factory

The A380 Jig is interesting - a bit like a big Airfix Kit really - and to see 4 380's on jacks, wing tip to wing tip in the next Hall is pretty impressive. Not so sure it as relaxed as it was pre SIA's first!!!!!

Is it worth visiting? Are most aircraft in the line. Belougas etc.

I've done the A380 line, and the A330/40 line (and the Boeing Factory). I would highly recommend both of them! I would say the A330/40 was better because we actually walked in the rafters above the aircraft being built- was certainly amazing to see. Whilst the A380 was impressive, we just observed from a glass viewing box at the end of the room. Though I wouldn't know how you would go about booking a tour - I was part of an organised group. The website is Taxiway.fr so that could point you in the right direction!

On a side note, if you've done the Boeing tour, I think you'll find the Airbus one far more interesting. The tour guide explained to us about the different materials used, where parts were sourced from, process of making an airframe etc., whereas the Boeing one was horrifically dumbed down, and was more a "We are the best" type of tour.
