Bournemouth Air Festival 2010

The website is a little vague, making you buy the program, which is also a bit vague.

Anybody know when the Reds are displaying on Sat 21st?

I have a prior engagement at Noon, and wondered if I need to rush.

Thanks in advance

SPHLC

I would have thought that Mrs SPHLC would object to being rushed at the altar, discretion being the better part of valour and all that. And the vicar won't appreciate it either.... :}

I've got a parking space right by the front. All days of festival. PM if interested

Yes, it's true, I'm getting married at noon! Met her at the inaugaral Air Show 3 years ago when my Herc was taking the Reds support party on to Geneva the next day. Kept with the anniversary and got engaged last year, tying the knot on Saturday.

But I've been making jokes about how much it costs to hire the Red Arrows for your wedding reception. Shame if we see them leaving as we leave the Town Hall (but wouldn't it be sweet if they did their arrival while we were on the steps!)

The website says the Saturday flying programme starts at noon with the beach assault demo, then suggests that the Reds are up next.

mrwilko, PM-ing you in a few mins

I was under the impression that the Dutch F16's were arriving BOH this AM between 10 and 11:suspect:, anyone know if they they have arrived as yet or any reliable info ??

Thanks. Bob M :ok:

Bob M 18th Aug 2010 13:35

Mystery solved, just landed !! thanks all the same.:ok:

hurn 18th Aug 2010 15:39

F16 just did a rather awesome and noisy practice display over the beach. :D

Roll on the show days. :cool:

SirPeterHardingsLovechild 18th Aug 2010 18:12

Thanks Bob M

If they do a straight line from Chicksgrove to the Bournemouth Seafront...

Well, not quite, just missing the Town Hall by a few hundred yards to the east, and hitting the seafront between B'mouth & Boscombe piers.

But the timing is perfect!

Maybe if we transfered the wedding to the Wimborne roundabout :}

XH558 has just landed at Bournemouth. Massive crowds at both ends of the runway and the traffic stopped as everyone got out to see.

Now parked at the Cobham hanger. Spotters should get some great pics from the viewing carpark at the far end of the main terminal.

Bob M 20th Aug 2010 13:15

Ah well, Sir Peters LC at least you should hear them !!:}
