Dog Fight Over Northolt

Great to see a Spitfire and a Hurricane having some fun over the field this afternoon.

Malaysian28 8th Jun 2010 15:51

Really What time was it.

This is becoming a regular Occurrence just a few weeks ago I am pretty sure I saw a similar thing.

ukdean 8th Jun 2010 16:12

About 3ish. This is the second time i`ve seen the 2. Having them doing tight turns at about 500 feet is quite a sight.

Malaysian28 8th Jun 2010 16:21

I was in Uxbridge around 3 but didnt hear anything, have seen it before, I remember seeing a Spit do a victory roll.
Do you know if there is a Spitfire based a Northolt.

ukdean 8th Jun 2010 16:43

I dont think Northolt has a spitfire. They flew circuits over Eastcote at very low level.

I must admit the noise was bloody well good.

I must admit, its makes a change to see them instead of the islander..

... & the Biz Jets

I do love the sound of a Merlin.

That is one sound that still brings goose bumps

ukdean 8th Jun 2010 17:08

Put it this way, im glad i was`nt a German in the second world war as i bet that noise did not give them goose bumps.

Malaysian28 8th Jun 2010 17:18

The Sound of Four of them on Lancaster is Superb.

to off-topic slightly does anyone know if there is going to be a flypast for Trooping of the Colour this Saturday.

leader12uk 8th Jun 2010 19:01

They arrived yesterday, I was told they were going to do 2 displays today but i think the first one was rained off. i am just about to process the photographs from today. must admit it was nice to hear them.

Flypast this saturday, followed by the photoday on the sunday, just hope the weather improves.

ukdean 8th Jun 2010 19:40

UKDean - say Hello to Eastcote for me - grew up there, under the Northolt circuit - Ansons, Devons, Exeditors, Noratlas's, etc. I was in St Lawrence Drive - where are you?

Malaysian28 8th Jun 2010 21:40

Thanks Teeej I'll keep my camera out at work might catch them over the next few days.
On Saturday I should get them over my house in greenford however I may only get the fast jets, tankers, etc the BBMF usually turn off before they reach me.
Will post pics if I get any.

M28 ... I would recommend going up to Horsenden Hill to see the flypast, a truly excellent view.

Park in the car-park, walk up the footpath up the hill to the top; walk past the trig-point, across the (public) golf course heading east, and there's an opening through the trees. Just through there, and you have an excellent unobstructed view of London. With good eyesight you can see the flypast approaching well to the east of London.
After the flypast at BP they all head northwest ... directly towards you!
