Hawarden - New Hangar

Drove past Hawarden the other day and noticed a new hangar going up, I know Beechcraft were wanting to expand but in view of losing the netjets paint contract to Doncaster is this their expansion still or BAe ?

I don't think they have lost the contract to Doncaster. The contract was split by fleet. I did hear that the contract was being spread over 4 yrs rather the original 2 yrs. HBC seem to be investing a lot at Hawarden. They have closed their facility at Oxford and (so the rumour goes) pulled out of a development plan at Cranfield. They still seem to be selling aircraft!

Sorry Bagso, do try to keep up!
Hawarden is called Broughton these days 'cos that's in Welsh Wales and it's an Airbus UK site and thus part of EADS not BAe or even BAE Systems. They sold it you know.

I know not for certain, but I rather suspect that the new hangar is for A350 wing assembly.

Hawarden Airport (located in Wales) is operated and owned still by BAe Systems, and Airbus UK is just a tenant on the land. Airbus call the factory "Broughton" as that village is closer than Hawarden to the airfield.
Raytheon also have operations there.
Given the scale of the hangar, I would assume it is an Airbus investment.
