Central London Accomodation

Anybody got any good personal recommendations for accomodation in central London?
Looking for something quiet, reasonably priced (read cheap) and centrally located for playing in town.

Don't want to make a mortgage payment for a nights stay, don't need a fancy name or address to impress anyone.

Have lots of recommendations in the Guide books, but wondered if anyone had any personal experiences.

Thanks in advance...............

Do you want it for a night or a year? B&B or four-bedroom manse?

A few more details would help!

"reasonably priced (read cheap)" AND "centrally located" !!

Please confirm you mean London, England!

For a week, end of November, beginning of Dec (Bash time). Hotel preferable to B&B.

Quite a number of places, but some are already fully booked (Travel Inn, etc).

Looking at under $100 USD per night, if possible. I'm a cheap SOB!

Unfortunately no personal recommendations, but look at http://www.theaa.co.uk/region9/index.html ,good range of London hotels, but some slightly over your price range (around $5000 per night over in fact)

I use an OK place called the Bedford, in Southampton Row (Holborn Underground.) Basic room, bathroom, TV, around £65.

Holiday Inn Express on Old Street is central (just N of City), near the Tube and quite reasonable (£50-£80/night).

There are some top bars and restaurants within crawling distance of that Holiday Inn - not that that should sway your judgement!

Best part of town!

The Strand Palace Hotel on the Strand is very basic but reasonably priced.

You could try St Cristophers Village in the Borough High Street,
the rooms are ok and its a kinda through lounge for Ausies and Kiwis. Its only half a mile from the city of London and the west end is only two miles away and its only £25:00/night.They even have internet in the lobby!
Those ausies know how to party so take that in mind !!

Try the Docklands Travelodge. Close to the DLR / Tube, clean and cheap.
