Electra
Hi,
Would anyone be able to tell me if there is an Electra sneaking around the skies about 22.00, in the London area at the moment? Could swear I have heard one the past few nights. What a great sound. Cheers |
Atlantic Airlines/Air Atlantic Electra maybe??????????

They are the only ones operating the Electra in the EU nowadays, I believe.
Could be a STN flight, or maybe one of the routes over to Belgium or other Euro Hubs?? Normally one or two people have an idea of the NPT schedules for the Electra on here. Maybe search Freight Dogs as well? |
I think that TAY26H from EGPH (Edinburgh) to EBLG (Liege) is a usual flight on the Electra most evenings. I work night shifts just inside the M25 and have heard it a few times, hence why I looked it up.
It routes N0300F190 TLA N57 POL R101 STAFA L10 HON/N0314F180 L186 BIG/N0300F190 W70 KOK, departing EGPH at 20:55 and so is normally over London (BIG = Biggin Hill VOR) at approx 22:05 at 18,000ft. Does this sound like the one you're hearing? |

FL190 is slightly too high for the ACMS datalink to capture, so, as they fly over the home base, EGBE, they have to drop down slightly. They can then struggle back up to 190 once this has been done.
