Very good point Dave, hadn't registered that when I first read it.

Nosig my ar$e!!

I think that you will find that NOSIG refers to the fact that there is no significant change forecast to the existing weather, not that there is No significant weather.

Lowfield h,

NOSIG means that within the next 2 hours here are no significant changes forecast to the wx as given in the METAR. Clearly totally inappropriate in this case.

NSW =nil Wx, Appears within the main body of text
NOSIG = Trend. No significant change (expected within next 2hrs i think). Appears at the end of the text.

Well it may have been brief but it made a hell of a mess! I live in Génova, EC-YKA, and my power went off at 1736 hrs yesterday and came back on at 2210 hrs today.

EC-YKA 5th Oct 2007 23:16

...you've been lucky, cameronian, friends of mine who do live in Genova as well, had a power outage until nearly midnight and spent the evening in "Es Mussol" enjoying the candlelight *lol* ... You've had your "fair share" down there.

Thanks all for the weather reports. As Beagle said, that was the rain in Spain. I'm closing this one now but there is a TAF from Taipei of bad weather arriving shortly.:)
