Does anyone know.........?

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can shed any light on this one for me....managed to escape last week for a holiday on the lovely sunny Isle of Malta :} However one thing that caught my eye was that the day we left there was an aircraft flying over with an escort of 3 military planes flying with it, obviously at first we all thought the palne was some military aircraft as well...but it was a passenger plane. Just wondered like I said if anyone knows anything???

As far as I know, no head of state visited the island last week so unless it was an incognito visit, your sighting is still a mystery to me too.

On a point of detail, last Friday 3 Harriers stopped at MLA for a few hours so the military aircraft you saw might have been these aircraft but re passengers plane still no clue.

Could it have been a civilian a/c derived tanker? DC-10/707 etc?
