Catalina wreckage in Saudi Desert - N5593V
A friend of mine told me about this a/c which he visited while working in Saudi.Unfortunately cannot load the pictures but got the tail no.Can anyone share any info on this a/c and its history

Brings back memories from long ago. I saw it at Croydon in August 1959.

I saw N5593V at Gatwick in 1959/60, before it departed for Middle East.:{

The pics on Google Earth shows that it is rapidly disintegrating. In particular, the wing has become partly detached and the engines are now near-vertical.
