B737 G-thoo

In reply to where G-THOO is to be based

The aircraft was delivered from Shannon to Coventry some time today the aircraft could be Coventry as it,s base for now.

This could mean the departure of a B737 500 to greener pastures.

Liverpool/Manchester Lufthansa Questions

I noticed a flight plan for an LH A319 from Gander to Liverpool on Saturday, arriving early afternoon. Any idea what this was as I couldn't see a flight out to anywhere.

Considering the Low Vis conditions affecting the North West, might the above aircraft have diverted to MAN and become the Privatair A319 aircraft which flew to DUS?

Even so, what's the deal?

Curious Pax 4th Feb 2007 11:22

For some reason the regular Lufthansa all-business flight from the US to Dusseldorf (not sure if it was the ORD or EWR flight) was planned to stop en route for a crew change in LPL. Due to weather there it did indeed divert to MAN. The flight is operated by Privatair on Lufthansa's behalf with a 319, in this case D-APAC.

AlphaWhiskyRomeo 4th Feb 2007 17:09

Thought it might be something like that.

But it still confuses me that it flew from Gander, rather than ORD or EWR and that it uses LPL rather than MAN, a regular LH diversion/tech stop airport as well as LH serving it.

Maybe they had a particularly high payload or strong winds en route? Or maybe a tech or medical issue forced a stop at Gander?

Ringwayman 4th Feb 2007 17:18

Does Privatair have an aircraft at Chester over the weekend? If they do, presumably the crew will be at an hotel nearby and therefore it might be quicker for them to position to Liverpool rather than Manchester, with the transatlantic crew doing whatever duties the Chester aircraft has planned?

MYT in SYD

Hi,

I saw an MYT A330 parked up in SYD last week, were they doing flights like Britannia used to do back in the day. Austravel used to use Britannia to do flights to NZ via AUH/SIN, I was just wondering if it was a similar thing?

Thanks.

SeamusCVT 8th Mar 2007 08:10

I think this stop is part of their around the world holiday. 30 days or so, with 11 stop offs. It looked absolutely amazing, and if they do it again, would be well worth an investment...once in a lifetime trip by all accounts.

Wodrick 8th Mar 2007 15:41

Indeed, should depart today for BKI

Our PM in Libya

How come our beloved PM flew to Libya with their new airline? Didn't BA have any spare a/c?

This forum is NOT a UK-only forum my friend.
Your Prime Minister is certainly not mine...

Tony Blair

Tony Blair flew from Heathrow to Tripoli on his usual chartered BA 777, he will be using the 777 for his five day tour of Africa. However on arrival in Tripoli he flew courtesy of the Libyan government from Tripoli to Sirte, which is close on 280 miles east of Tripoli for the meeting with Colonel Gaddafi, the BA 777 is not approved for operations into Sirte Airport.

Any way of finding out which a/c are based where?

Hey everyone. I've never posted on this particular thread before so not sure if this inquiry is where it should be.

But nevermind, here goes! The title is pretty self explanitory. Is there any way, any internet programs or anything, of finding out which aircraft from a certain airline are currently based at each of their base airports.

For example, I want to find out where each of the bmibaby 733's are based right now. There is a specific reason for this but I won't bore you by going into it. I know that G-TOYA and G-BYZJ are currently based at MAN but only through looking at the airports AMOSS system. And airlines tend to change the based aircraft around on a regular basis.

So, is there any way I can find out where the other WW 733's are based right now and also find out which 733's will be at MAN in a few weeks time, assuming they change over regularly.

This request isn't specifically for bmibaby, just an example. Any input would be greatful.

Ryanair Fleet Rotation and Bases etc

Hi there,

This is purely out of interest, and just something that I was thinking about. Does anyone have any idea how Ryanair base their aircraft, and rotate them?

eg. Do aircraft arrive from Boeing to a particular base, and remain there until heavy maintenance or something then get swapped around a bit?

Also, do Ryanair fly any W-patterns?

eg. Does each aircraft simply fly to/from its base ie. STN-DUB-STN-PIK-STN...... all day, or could it be more like STN-DUB-PIK-DUB-STN....?

Any replies would be appreciated!

Tom Man-alc

Anyone any idea what the aircraft type will be down to operate during october on tuesday mornings as TOM3171 MAN-ALC departing 0750?
The flight schedule book for august says a 763, but im guessing it could be opping on a 752 as it gets to the end of summer? I actually do hope its the 763, not flew on one of them short haul for nearly 10 years.

Any info or help appreciated. :ok:
