Thanks for that Steve, muchly appreciated. That's the one we saw at East Midlands a while back but I'll be keeping my eyes upwards on Monday afternoon in the hope that it routes down this way (Berkshire).

Stu As with any cargo charter, there are many factors which will determine ETD... Cargo availability, loading time, docs, overflights, weather etc etc. Anyone know what it's carrying from MAN? (Veeps?!) Presuming it's oil equipment to Nigeria???? The An225 charter from EMA last year wasn't any more than a 124 load, so this might be the first "proper" commercial 225 load out of the UK? N'est pas? |
Departing sometime between 11am and 12 noon local time. It cant take off any earlier because of the airport being to busy. Its taking stage equipment to Lagos for some kind of event. All this info taken from aircraft captain and local operations.

Is that 11am - 12 tommorrow Steve?

AN225
With any luck it will route via Southampton so I will be looking out for it passing just west of LHR.Any idea of the radio frequencies it is likely to use so I can listen for it while I paint the lounge?.

Heard that it might be leaving at 7am Tueday, can anyone confirm this?
|
Three AN124's parked side by side at NEMA this morning-very impressive!

Saw some of the load today on the back of some big trucks at the Cargo Centre. No wonder they needed the An-225. Reckon it'll be a shallower climbout than a PIA 742 on a warm day! |
When it came to EMA recently it spent around 7 mins on the runway prior to take off running its engines at fullish power. I hope ATC take that into account! :\

standard technique for both 124/225-and yes has been known to cause the odd problem!

Do they take passengers accompanying the cargo on their flights? i.e. - Would the roadies for the stage stuff going to Lagos lfy on board or travel separately? I know the 225 has got a big living area above, but it has a lot of crew on-board. |
It's currently planned out at 1100L (although likely to change!) & should be on a HON (Honiley) SID
