You mean the RNZAF 757 which went balistic into the clouds after a low pass of Whenuapai air base ?

WOW very impressive! Anybody any idea what speed it was?

Shucks ever since the left wing government took their fighters off them, the New Zealand Air Force has taken to flying transports like fighters.

Few years ago I saw an RNZAF C-130H pull aerobatics over wellington city in tight formation with a Boeing 727-100. Now that was even more impressive.

Please ... Please ... sombody just give them a fighter to play with :ugh:

Actually reflecting on the question about speed, jets achieve high speed at altitude due to lower air density. Perhaps this 757 was pumping about 400 knots as a guess. That's about the upper speed levels of WW2 fighters

They are coming over to the UK to do two shows. Can't wait:ok:

Formation aerobatics? Kiwiguy, are you sure?

Perhaps the boys in blue should visit you for a urine test...

If you're in the U.K. in June, go see for yourselves - I saw the validation flight at Avalon in '05 and it was a stunner:D :D After a high speed pass they do their version of a B-1B zoom climb, which for a lightweight '57 is a terrific spectacle.

One clue is hopefully June 18th........

Yeah Runaway Gun... I kid you not.

A C-130 and 727-100 wingtip to wingtip pulling off a joint performance over Wellington in 2002 or 2003. I was rather stunned as I was not expecting it and just heard the sound in time to look up and catch the last of their display.

I take it you are talking "aerobatics" as in steep turns and wingovers rather than loops and rolls?
