Embraer ?

At the 1978 Farnborough Air Show Embraer were kind enough to give me a ride in their Bandeirante. They have come a long way since then.

E-120 Brasilia, E-145, E-170 etc.

Has anybody got any positive experiences of the newer types ?

What are your thoughts ?

Cheers,

Brother Wolf

Been on Air Canada's 175 model a few times in the last year. Much more comfortable inside than the usual Canadair RJ. Weird wiggle at the back that you can feel on take off. Kind of like when you get a Brazilian thong stuck up your crack.

I know about weird wiggles as I play for a Brasilian Samba Band !

I will have to trust your word about the thong ?

I fly the 145. No wierd thong feelings here. Hmmmmmm?

As regular self-loading freight on 145s, I have to say I like them. They seem to give a much more sprightly performance that the B737 series - I recall one particular tight descending turn into Bristol over Weston SM where the guy in front of me thought we were going to spiral into the Bristol Channel.
Only complaint is that as I am 6ft 3" the cabin head room is poor, and cabin baggage room is minimal (awkward when you like to travel with cabin only bag).
I do recall one high wind landing at EDI that was 'interesting' - movement on all three axises

I like the 145s.

Although I find I feel the landings harder on them than flying on a 737/A320 etc.

Do the 145s have a higher crosswind component allowance for landings than a 737 or A320?

I was away over the weekend when a 145 touched down and other a/c types had to divert after repeated failures.
