This is a joke, right ? |
A380 Deliveries
Hey, can some one tell me who is the first to get the A380 and the month of the delivery? I know Virgin have placed orders, when are they due to be launched or delivered? Cheers...
|
A380 Deliveries
The first A380 is currently scheduled for delivery to Singapore Airlines in November this year and is planned to enter service in December.
Virgin Atlantic have 6 on order with the first delivery in 2008 but there have been strong rumours that the order may be reduced or part order further delayed. |
As it is an Airbus and its a double decker then the nickname Routemaster fits. As in " as aerodynamic as a"

A 380 Rumour
This is probably in the wrong place, but there is a rumour doing the rounds that the A380 ( nickname still open to debate, but routemaster looks good to me) is due into MAN for some sort of trials next Saturday (10th June)
Can anyone give credence to this, I normally avoid Saturday overtime, but I might make an exception if that thing is coming. |
This is the same day as Chester open day and the A380 for that I beieve been cancelled due workload

Par for the course...
>>...sees the least amount of obstacles on its way...>>
It would certainly appear that the obstacles the A380 has encountered have been quite a few... Overweight Late Over budget? Cancelled orders. A white elephant if there even was one... Brabazon, anyone?:E |

Don't crow too soon 411A, the 787 is only a paper aeroplane currently. Plenty of time for it to have problems.
The A380-900 is the one a lot of people reckon will be the real winner, but I guess that Airbus want to regain the confidence of the airlines before launching that version |
AIRBUS 380 AT Farnborough
hi
its Already a success its what people around here are talking about coming to the Show . its what they want see and Go on. despite its problems it will be a BIG BIG winner TONY |
Any news about Malaysian's order for the A380? I read a few days ago it was in danger due to their financial situation. Now it the time for BA to show their mettle and order the <'heads' may have rolled but this is family web site> A380 (if MAS drop out) abnd inject some life into the programme.
|
I'm sorry, but why on earth should BA order the A380 just to dig Airbus out of a hole? Their responsibility is towards their shareholders, not their suppliers.
|
Maybe Dan-Air 87 has forgotten they are not a nationalised airline anymore :} :}
Whilst it would be nice to see an order for the A380 from BA I'm not sure it fits with their current planning which seems to be for more 777 sized aircraft. |
So all those Boeing supporters who were ridiculing the need for another large aircraft, and suggesting that Airbus had got it sooooo wrong, how do you explain the news that Boeing is looking to stretch the 747-800 to just under 500 seat capacity??
Maybe your blind faith in the anti Airbus publicity of Boeing is coming back to haunt you!! |
Hi lads,
Going over to Toulouse in Augest, does anyone know about the A380s movements around I'd love to see one. Any help appreciated. |
I have seen the A380 at Farnboro yesterday and she is a magnificent aircraft and I am looking forward to seeing them at LHR in whatever colours.
Yes I appreciate that BA are not Government owned (as I am a share holder) but I can't see the reasons for their preference towards Boeing for their long haul fleet. Time will tell as it is interesting that they have only ordrered 777 and not the 787. I for one think that BA need the A380 for some of their routes where the increase in cargo capacity alone would more than justify the acquisition. To all those who doubt the viability of the A380, look again at SIA who have ordered more. Once the production glitches are over come then I am sure that Airbus will come good and deliver a great product to operate and for pax to fly in. I can't wait... |
