Ryanair B737-200 stops on the grass

Ryanair B737-200 currently has its nose wheel and main gear parked on the grass at EIDW near remote stand 92.

The cause of the mishape is not known.

Ground crew now preparing to tow it back off the grass..

Anyone have the exact cause of the off road excursion..

Anyone sharing an airfield with the aforementioned will not be entirely suprised:hmm:

Yes, I saw that this morning. I looks like it was at the end of the taxiway, so maybe he/she was going too fast (surely not), or they perhaps lost hydraulic pressure meaning no brakes or steering.
Will be interested to hear.

Yak-Yak, This wouldn't be by any chance the Eircell Logojet would it? Purpley coloured? I wonder if there is any chance its one of the scraped ones they have there like the eircell thats either been put on the grass or might have just rolled there?

Ground Handling issue when tug disconnected, to reposition after pushing off stand, accumulator pressure not sufficient for brake application. The aircraft was not taxying or had engines running at the time. Sorry to disappoint with the facts!

EI - COX on grass

As explained in the IALPA phone text which went to all members before 0900 this morning.....

The aircraft was under tow at the time and no pilots were involved.

No bashing about taxi speeds required.

Telestar,
I doubt its that Eircell Jet, as that one would be parked at Dub and used for practice by the Airport Fire Dept........So Really hope it was nt that, that would be worrying....

Telstar 11th Oct 2005 20:56

Ah I was wondering why that was hanging around for so long, I thought they were scavenging it for parts and then it was going get runded over with a JCB.

bombhead 12th Oct 2005 07:35

That's a shame, and i thought they were practicing for "Farm grass strips".
Oh well.:)

FR stuck in the mud?

Anyone know the circumstances surrounding a 732 stuck in the grass in front of the A pier adjacent to the links at DUB yesterday. Also heard a 732 last Friday out of EIKN lost an engine and diverted to EINN.
