Problem with Northwest32 into LGW?

Currently having Northwest Dc-10 flying over for the second time, being VERY noisy, and looks like it's aborted a landing, and holding over here @ MAY VOR, anyone have any clue with what's going on?

Thanks

talk about up to date?

Well the a/c landed from what i saw on the net, and there seem to be no problems at Gatwick as other a/c are landing, so I imagine all was well in the end and just a tec. prob or something.

Their aircrafte are in the hangar every day at LGW. Always seem to be working on the engine in tail. Must be nearly at their sell by date

How does an a/c "look like its aborted a landing"?

mmmm so no coincidence that the NW mechanics at MSP have been on strike since 20 Aug ?

The Northwest had a possible flap problem, so went around and held temporarily to check things out. Nothing found-landed safely.

...By switching on an Airband that I only listen to now and then when something seems odd/unusual, or thunderstorms in the area.
Initally they were reporting LOC established, then I saw it over here again! .. thats why I said the above.

Still, I'm sure it's all sorted now and is winging it's way back across the Atlantic.;)

And then back to Gatwick a couple of hours later.

Had the hardest landing of my life in a Northwest DC10 into Amsterdam.

Captain blamed the FO - what's new!

Northwests routine DC10 maintenance has been contracted out to DAS Engineering - hence you usually see one of their aircraft in DAS's hangar at Gatwick.
