jet pipe recognition from RIAT no 2
2nd attempt... I took this picture at RIAT on Saturday last but cannot remember what plane they were on. It was parked in a short row of 3 ? a/c to the right and rear of the static B1 Lancer.Do you remember or recognize ?

It is a Tornado - the bomber version with those hard points - so a GR4 I guess.

Not the answer i expected but thanks.

Yes, notice the reverser gear on either side of the nozzles, the design of which is also indicative of afterburner [reheat].

Not unlike this: GR4 (RAF website)

Pleased to help: If it is any help you 'doubled up' on the [IMG] tags somehow which is why they 'appear'. If you edit you will see.

Looking through my Pics (yes, I've only just finished sorting through them) I think it may have been this German Tornado.
It's the only one I took with a centreline pod attached. http://dan.knight.net/Torny45+25.jpg Regards, Dan |
