Ex Mytravel DC-10-10 rumoured crashed in Africa??

Wonder if there is anybody out there who can shed some light. Heard of a mate that one of the ex DC10-10 owned by Mytravel, sold to someone in Africa has crashed anybod got any info..

Cyrano 9th Feb 2005 17:26

Kestral:

A meaningful subject line (e.g. "Ex-MYT DC10-10 rumoured crashed in Africa?") would probably get a better response...

jettesen 9th Feb 2005 18:10

erm???????????? Isn't that the same as the original title??

hobie 9th Feb 2005 18:21

Was it just the three DC 10's that MyTravel operated?

Big Tudor 9th Feb 2005 18:52

In the UK MYT operated 3 x DC10-10's and 1 x DC10-30 (G-BYDA). Ryan International (Sun Trips) also operated DC10's in the states which have ben in MYT colours for a while.

G-BYDA

As for the thread question, dunno. Nothing being said in the African Forum. Would have thought it would have got a mention there if true.

Paracab 9th Feb 2005 19:07

jettesen,

Note that the original post was edited 11 mins after the suggestion of a new title by Cyrano.....

Engineer 10th Feb 2005 08:47

Two of the ex DC10-10s are still in JNB the third one is flying the Hajj

RoyHudd 10th Feb 2005 11:11

Unsubstantiated rumour, still managing to put MYT in a bad light. Please remove or send thread to the recycle bin. And send the author too, if you will.

Sky Wave 10th Feb 2005 11:15

RoyHudd

How does someone starting a rumour about an ex MYT aircraft put MYT in a bad light? If it's ex, then it's sold and therefore nothing to do with them.

eal401 10th Feb 2005 14:24

still managing to put MYT in a bad light.
Yeah, we're too stupid to understand the "ex" at the front.

Mods, if you're going to bin the thread, chuck RoyHudd and dcjet after it.

CargoOne 10th Feb 2005 21:38

dcjet

PS Don't you think that the crash of something as big as a DC10 would make a news bulletin instead of just your mate being the only source of gross misinformation?
After the story with major incident at CAI with B707 last year, which haven't got any publicity while being just a step from accident and resulted in aircraft write-off, I would not be much surprised if suddenly no one will know about real DC10 crash...

master slug 10th Feb 2005 22:20

G-BYDA is basking in the sun at Manchester UK.

Well if you can call it the sun, the rain. The manchester weather.

But i must admit, sombody has been playing with it over the last few days.

So says the slug.............

As I See It 14th Feb 2005 04:55

Dirty Albert is possibly going to fly today (14/Feb, 08:00) on a demo flight, probably one of the last times we'll see it fly at MAN.
