With clerence from the tower, a private plane can fly a VFR route along the shoreline. I'm not making this up, because I have flown on it with my neighbor.

as737700 - try doing it in a helicopter...

The shoreline transition is usually given as not about 150' agl, whizzing up the surf at 50' and 100 knots is quite fun! :)

I can't open the Russian ones but the KLM Jumbo photo looks to me like a fix. The shadows on the aircraft itself indicate that the sun is at the Jumbo's 4 o'clock high. The aircraft's shadow on the ground, though, shows that the aircraft is closer to the camera than the shadow is (otherwise the shadow would be larger, despite the height of the camera above the runway.) and this means that the sun is at the aircraft's 7 o'clock high.
