Cool :ok: photo. So cool it's now my official wallpaper on my pc!
Loads of comments from my colleagues.... |
Very nice. Both are completely made up of course by someone bored sitting in front of their PC.
|
Made up? I don't think Airliners accept 'fakes', I stand to be corrected on this.
However, the photo does make us wonder how he could take these air to air shots  |
Capt. J
You are correct Fake pictures are not accepted by Airliners.net. The photographer in question is an SQ Pilot. The rest of his pictures are here http://www.airliners.net/search/phot...nct_entry=true |
I must assume the cynics amongst you are a bunch of MS FlightSim specialists.
I have spent an pleasant 20 minutes looking at this Pilot's photo collection. He obviously takes pleasure in capturing those special moments we ( pilots) often enjoy from our priveliged viewpoint. I have seen many spectacular sights, and often wish I had the skill and equipment to capture them on film. So, sheenboy, please feel free to share YOUR photos (obvioulsy real) with us. JMC-MAN |
How do they verify a pic is genuine? |
Doesn't look like photoshop material to me. It's not very rare to see these scenes if you're an airline pilot. It really just depends on how beautiful the photo is, in this case this photographer's photos are too good to believe.
Airliners.net doesn't accept fake photos as far as from what I know of, if you could find any evidence that the photos are fake, please point them out. I'm looking forward to what evidence you will find. If you fly as much as an airline pilot, passing over another plane is a very normal thing. Most of the time when you're on a aircraft travelling you won't look out the window much and therefore even if another aircraft is over or below you, you'd have no idea. How many times do you look out the window? Not as much as airline pilots. They have to observe everything and because they have a larger view, they will spot a lot of things you don't spot. Cheers |
How do they verify a pic is genuine?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably in the same way you verify that a picture is faked... A most wonderful retort my friend! :E |
Looking at these picture reminds me of a web site that had lots of photos from airline pilots, but I cannot remember what it was, some brill shots of clouds ect, I dont think it was airliners net, anybody remember it.
Nick. |
SheenBoy - I flew for SQ for over ten years on the long haul fleets and I can assure you that pictures such as these could have been taken several times each and every day of that ten years.
|
Lovely photos by someone with a passion. And patience. And good equipment.
|
I believe he's a 777 chap. And the two up front must sit there in the cruise looking at TCAS waiting for the fabulous shots he gets.
(Just green with envy) My old man flew for SIA - we always seemed to be up there on dark nights:{ |
sheenboy
Scenes like the first one are very common in RVSM airspace, we see them several times a day. Why would somebody waste their time trying to fake it when they could just click from the flightdeck window? Airclues |
Lovely Photo!
Hi everyone,
the photographer is a SQ 777 pilot |
And he's taken some great shots.
Real shots btw. |
They're genuine. And a rip roaring camera- wonder what it is! The boy's got timing!
|
Agree Capt A,
Seen stuff like this many times and got pics/vid. Flew 1000' below a Canadian jet a few week ago and got a few great pics. Certainly couldn't be bothered to fake it, and the kids love to see what Daddy does for a living (wouldn't lie to them!). Tonks |
How about offering proof that they are fake "sheenboy?" Or, as others have suggested, show your own, better photos.
Hmm, it's all gone quiet..... |
Wanabees really wind me up..... I can't prove they are fake. But I am not arrogant enough to suggest otherwise. |
