"EXS8HQ overhead the Lizard now, FR24 reckons it’s routing Alicante to Malaga. Clearly not taking the direct routing"

It's that time of year, again.

Changes from Summer to Winter schedules (which started yesterday), and vice versa, typically confuse the flight trackers because alphanumeric callsigns often change at that point.

What you saw (depending on whether it was going north or south) was probably LS129 GLA-FNC or LS130 FNC-GLA, using an alphanumeric that was previously assigned to an ALC-AGP flight.

Edit: Looks like that alphanumeric is actually used for LS174 FAO-GLA, and has been for the last few years, so I've no idea why FR24 has got confused.

Thanks Dave, was heading North so probably LS130. Thought it was just me that tripped over the GMT/BST change

Just got my first glimpse of the AN225. Spotted it on FR24 heading my way at 36000ft and with clear blue sky I thought I might make an effort to have a look with binoculars. Didn’t need them to know which one it was because even all those miles away it looks so different from everything else. Got a glorious view with binoculars - the sun shining in the right places to see every contour. Well worth the effort!

Saw it on FR24, didn't recognise the registration for what it was, and didn't look up as it passed.

I saw it, straight over the top of central London. Lovely looking in the sun and blue sky! Sadly I didn't manage to get a photo worth showing even myself. Should be heading back this way tomorrow morning, who knows maybe blue skies again ?

Quite like old times - FlyBe Dash 8 just gone over at 24000 heading for Exeter maybe as BEE001P out of Maastricht. Ferry I assume or has the Phoenix arisen from the ashes...?

I donít often fly in light aircraft from Calgary International, but today while participating in a SAREX, I spotted a Q400 that was a long way from home:

I guessed (correctly) that Jambojet is a Kenyan operator.

It's been in storage at YYC for the last year and a half, straight off the production line, looks like the Kenyans can't/won't take delivery.

Dave,

I thought that might be the case after looking up Jambojet and its history.

PS Today an AME friend who works in the SW corner of YYC told me that the Q400 has acquired significant hail damage and will be VERY expensive to repair.

Just seen a Jet Blue A321NXLRBGTQI heading into Heathrow, first for me.

My sis was repatriated to the US on a TAP A321 yesterday after breaking her arm on holiday in Portugal and having an op to fix it. I spotted the aircraft just abeam the Azores and then was somewhat worried to see 4he aircraft divert to Ihla Sao Miguel... medical emergency? Sis? Nah, suitcases aboard belonging to someone who wasn't...

I've seen them several times in the last month or so, mixed in with the morning traffic into LHR. It does look strange, almost as if a Ryanair or EasyJet were spotted on the US East Coast. Also looks a bit like that Blue BA A320NEO from a distance.

I didn't realise that anyone in Europe was using A321's across the pond, except Aer Lingus/Air Canada, but I always see them differently due to the shorter distances.

Currently operates 4 pw to/from JFK, arrives LHR 10:05, departs 13:55. So far only 3 of JetBlue's 20-odd A321neos appear to be configured for transatlantic services.
