Enough broken cloud here (after a perfect azure sky all day) to make picking it out against the darkling sky difficult. Missed again, third or fourth time...

The C-32 orbited a few times, AF1 took in an extended tour of the Jurassic Coast but both got in perhaps 20 or 30 mins later than planned. Welcome to Cornwall!
I thought that the VC-32 was going to be the preferred aircraft, in conjunction with the rotary element whilst in the UK and the VC-25 to remain at Mildenhall ?
Indeed, but it was proclaimed on some spotter website, perhaps here even, but ultimately the only one's who know are the USSS and perhaps ATC ;-)
Apparently the VH-3's are paying a visit to LHR today. I wonder if they'll come in on the glidepath ?

ge of subject from the POTUS circus.
On Tuedat afternoon I was visiting the lovely Stourhead gardens near Mere in Dorset . Amidst the scenery there was the distinctive sound of a military piston , a radial I thought. A few minutes later the sound of same aircraft indulging in some nice aeros, loops and wingovers perhaps over Boscombe Down which is east of where I was and I could see the aircraft which seemed to eb quite light coloured being put through its paces. This was about 1515-1530 tuesday. Any one have any idea what it was , distance was such that all I could tell was single engined and wings didnt look like a spitfire -and I can usually tell a Merlin anyway. Any ideas??
Tks PB

Hartington/Dave Reid
thanks for suggestions, I am going to go with the T6, Ive not seen one before . I am pretty familair with the Yaks and their own brand of lovely piston noise and it seemed a different deeper note

T-6s often have a distinctive prop howl when manoeuvring - I believe they were banned from Biggin for years though one is active there again now.
Meanwhile, heading Britain-wards across the North Sea is Korean AF 10001, a 747... assuming it will be heading into Newquay, should be over London in a little while.
