Yes - had 319's for a few years and all the B.717's have gone.

Ah, in the Selsdon nature reserve and just been visited by the wondrous sight and sound of Rapide G-AHAG plus two Spits in the Biggin circuit. 'HAG was actually orbiting my house while waiting for the Biggin circuit to clear - but here there is only nature to compete with... Not survive ever seen her before, thinkshe may have been a restoration project with John Pierce if I recall aright...

Rich Goodwin's new jet powered Pitts just came within earshot... think he hasn't flown it with the jets yet and they are demountable - he has gone into Biggin also.

It's got a Lycoming as well... think he said he can take the jets off. He's certainly test flown it on piston power alone and with the jets in place either side of the CG.

I was just about to mention that! Did you see it ? That's pretty rare. I have the feeling I saw this years and years ago in France, but maybe they have had others over the years.

Hercs, particularly the older T56-powered variety, are rare indeed at Heathrow.

That said, the last C-130H to visit (twice in December 2013) was today's example.

Thanks for the info. Well, once every 8 years is a rare beast indeed, at least around these here parts!

Yep, I was just a couple of miles west of Biggin, watching the Spitfires come and go, came right over the top and beautifully visible. I saw it in 2013 as well, an "ooh what's that" moment!

Thought I could hear big radials - BBMF C-47 is in the Biggin vicinity. Also I see Rapide G-AIDL is o/h London - Had a ride in that many years ago.

Edit: sounded like a display, could hear Merlins turning themselves inside out as well! If only I'd still been at Farleigh golf course...

Algerian Herc inbound again, just passing Biggin.

See Aerobility had some kind of online airshow at Biggin yesterday - Merlin Spit I could distantly hear doing aeros was Peter Monk's IX flown by Dan Griffith.

Any photos of the Herc as it passed over you mr T ? I didn't even know it was coming back. I have little chance of seeing it unless arrivals are coming in on 27L or R.

No, it was above the morning clag - bootiful outside now and noticed the Herc heading back to Algiers earlier.

As mentioned on the Mil forum yesterday, really good to see 615 VGS back flying their gliders at Kenley yesterday - seven years since "the pause" started. They are getting their instructors back up to speed. May wander up there in an hour...

Thanks wub, I wonder what it's transporting ? Maybe bringing in sand from the Sahara to supplement the UK's beaches now that we're all staying home this summer ;-)

Thank you, wonder why he wasn't showing up.

USAF C-17 just landed at Newquay - or St Mawgan for us old-world die-hards. Keen to get some surfing in, or is this summit thingy nearly upon us?
