You beat me to it!

I was still asleep and subconsciously heard it, included it in my dream (cycling around Santiago de Chile) and was looking for an A400 in the sky sporting Chilean flag colours. I know, a bit sad....

Was woken early this morning, around 1.15am, as two USAF C-130s transited overhead Newcastle Upon Tyne in close formation.

The readers' pics page of BBC Scotland website has a great shot of two of them in formation at low level through a valley in the Scottish Borders.

A pair of US Navy stealth C-130Js out of Mildenhall flew S over London a little while ago, about a mile apart. Stealth? Unusually I couldn't hear them, C-130s are normally quite audible even when they are a few miles west as this pair were, and with a favourable wind. They are about to overfly the western suburbs of Paris...

Me too, (of course!). A lovely sound and I was able t see them with the naked eye because they flew in front of a large cloud that provided a much better background than the blue sky. I believe that they were KC-130's off to the Med etc to provide water for the aquatic birds.

A long way from home - based at NAS Miramar, CA with VMGR-352, so USMC rather than Navy.
