Try VP-FBQ.

(VP-F being the registration prefix for the Falkland Islands).

Just had my first survey aircraft visit of the summer spring, P-68 G-RVNM inbound Biggin - it's been doing runs along the runway extended centrelines at Gatters, presumably taking advantage of the glorious weather and absence of most traffic.

Disappointed to miss a formation of the Red Arrows F-15's over the north east today...

What actually happened was a Hawk did a couple of approaches to Teesside while Lakenheath F-15's have routed overhead at high level while en route to low level work in the north of Scotland. Seems to have caused some confusion.

The Teesside mayor claims he organises everything. Even four F15s that I observed yesterday.

707 - not seem any such claim from the Mayor. Is that an inaccurate comment on the inaccurate reporting?

Whilst watching a tracker earlier, I noted a Danish-regd Falcon over NE London at almost 40,000ft (by the M25 for accuracy) and it had just come out of Farnborough! I don't think I've ever seen an aircraft above 20,000ft before within the London area having just taken off from one of the airports/airfields.

Obviously traffic was light, including E-W/W-E flyovers and he was given clearance to space by ATC, but still surprising. He was at 45,000 by Essex and carried on at that altitude to Scandiland.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen confirmed on Facebook that the much-loved formation team had been carrying out training approaches at Teesside Airport. If it Teesside it must be the mayor, if you know what I mean.

Up in the 20s I think - I was up on the common about 10 miles to the south and heard it as a rumble, must have been about 5pm... Mind was elsewhere and it took a while to sink in...

Not the first prop to wake me up. We were on the beach in the south of France in Theoule-sur-Mer about 10 miles west of Cannes, which latter has a major GA airport with periodic business jets climbing across the bay in front. Nothing of consequence, and I fall asleep in the afternoon sun, dreaming of all sorts, eventually including R-1830s it seemed. My, that's a loud noise in the dream ... woke up suddenly and there it was, climbing so slowly in front of us, the heritage Swiss DC-3. Disappeared southwards out over the Med, but returned at altitude up in the heat haze 10 minutes later, when it presumably had enough height now to head northwards over the mountains. Mrs W said I had slept right through several biz-jets, but woke up pronto for this !
