Looks like one of the Bournemouth A340-600's (9H-EAL) is carrying out some crew training/currency return trips to Cardiff and back.

Imagine it is quite a pleasant change from Sim slots to actually fly a few circuits and "tricky" landings, concentrates the mind somewhat.

Nice to see a hot air balloon drifting gently southward over Kent... Unlike the noisy Fatlass that's just overflown me in Selsdon Woods - couldn't see it but looking up I did see a buzzard floating on the breeze. Also noisy was the urgent buzzsaw of an Avanti departing Biggin. Waiting to hear Spitfire, TE308/G-AWGB is out and about...

Edit: there's the Spitfire and I think I heard the dulcet tones of a considerately flown Harvard just now...

UR-CQD certainly passed over Biggin Hill around 1.30pm, clearly visible.

About half an hour later something with a big Lycoming passed a couple of miles to the south of me - high winged tail dragger flying slowly and quite tail low - think it was a Helio Courier but not sure and it didn't appear on any of the ADSB sites. Presumably G-BAGT if so, unless there are others in the UK.

Lots of light aircraft activity today before it's all stopped. Surrey Hills gliders and one of those Paramower things too...

Just remembered I also heard the first Belgian AF A400 crack over at about 2pm but couldn't see it - it appears to have been doing crew training circuits at Norwich, Cardiff and Brize....

Lest anyone might think Brize has seen multiple foreign A400Ms today, those are one and the same aircraft.

AN-26 UR-CQV about to pass over London on its way from Brum. Odd, they are on ADS0B Exchange and FR24 but not Flight Tracker.

I remember when AN-26s were rare in the UK, I saw one at Gatwick one Christmas, one of five on delivery to Cuba. It had broken down and been left behind. A couple of times I saw Cubana -26s droning eastbound from Shannon, I believe on their way for major overhaul.

It was extremely loud going over today, no doubt due to the acoustics afforded us by the fog this morning.

Very loud in my bathroom - but that's because the roof has just been removed!
