Interesting aircraft - what have you seen on your computer today?
Going back to the US civil Hercs in Europe.
I've just remembered that Golden Nugget Airlines flew one between Bournemouth and Guernsey carrying tomatoes around 1975, due to a dock worker's strike.
They would do 4 or 5 trips a day. Air Bridge Argosies were also used.

Anyone have any idea why a 2-ship Spitfire visit to Central London took place today just after 12 ? I was busy involved with something when the sublime sound of two Merlin engines got louder and louder and got my full attention. They originated in the Lincs area (BBMF?) and they did a couple of tight circuits and headed home again.

See there's an E-8 96-0042 "Peach 28" heading NW over Norfolk at 28000'. Seems this was one of the Canadian Armed Forces CC-137s back in the day.
EDIT: Now on a NNE course out over the North Sea, in pursuit of a KC-135, presumably congress will take place...

The sound of freedom, I guess, C17 trying out runway 21 (6200ft) at Prestwick.
Fair makes your windows rattle.
Anyone any idea how much runway 21 is used vs the longer 10,000ft runway 12/30? 21 seems to be rarely used.

German AF something or other just noted briefly while doing a circuit at Biggin, speed suggests a helicopter.

Hi…..It was a German CH53G….GAF888. Stopped at Biggin for fuel en route to Shawbury. On leaving Biggin, weather was “pants” so after a short flight out, they returned to Biggin for a night stop!
Left Biggin around 08.30 today,(Thursday), and routed around the north of London to Shawbury.

Cheers Chinooker, I was sorta within earshot of Biggin at 8.30am, surprised I didn't hear it go. Shame it didn't route south, years since I've seen a CH-53...

Blimey - Indonesian Government 737 approaching the Thames Estuary at 38000'. Looks like an overflight rather than a visit.
Edit: Gone into Shannon, presume a gas 'n' go...

GAF888 currently southbound towards Aylesbury…..unsure if it is making a fuel stop at Biggin on return leg.
Apparently German aircrew are training at Shawbury and this is a “swop over” of crew!
