Reminds me of that video of the IL-76 departing an Australian airport. Not an inch of runway left unused...

C-5M just flew over me altitude, certainly not as good a sound as the old screamer C-5A/B even if the M is more neighbourly...

I know that for a long time, the RAF’s RC-135’s operated out of Mildenhall with a full fuel load, which they couldn’t do out of Waddington. Nowadays, the RAF RC-135’s tend to depart Waddington and then air refuel with Mildenhall KC-135’s before going onward.

Just my assumptions……assume that there will be someone on here that will have more knowledge/insight into the above!
Thanks, that makes good sense to me. It will probably have quite a few friendly visitors whilst it's on the ground! Any photos from Mildenhall today by chance ?

Indian AF C-17 just flew over here outbound Waddington... funny old zig-zag route SE towards Orford Ness, then SW over London then another tack onto a SE heading.

Indian IL-78 due to depart Mildenhall around 11.00……will hold over Marham in order to pick up Mirages out of Waddington…..these should all route out over southern England…..think there destination is Andravida? One caveat on this is the current industrial action in France which is apparently causing some havoc with flight plans etc!
Should be another Indian C-17 later and also Saudi A-330’s with Typhoons.

IL-78 should be using callsign of “Titan”

“Titan” has just departed Mildenhall…..the Mirages have departed Waddington and done a “fly through” there! Formation was delayed by Swanwick….not sure of reason!
Now showing on Adsb…..RK3449

Of course the C-17 showed up beautifully - bit higher and leaving a trail!

Actually probably heard the IL-78 and Mirages, could hear something over the traffic...

I couldn't see the IL78, but got a glimpse of the C17 as it was trailing. Those IAF aircraft have taken very eccentric routes both times they have departed the Lincs area toward the South Coast area, any reason ? When are the Saudi 330's due out ?

Saudi’s have cancelled today! Apparently the Typhoons at Coningsby sat with engines running for almost an hour, awaiting the A-330’s to depart East Midlands Airport, but one of them had gone u/s…..Better luck tomorrow!!

Thanks! Imagine the faff for all the crew members waiting to launch and then the mission is scrubbed.

If you look at the Adsb track of that C-17 it done quite a large “dog leg” over East Anglia, before resuming south…..Can only assume it was to gain height before heading south?

A Canadian DHC-6 pootled over London earlier giving off a friendly drone. Not too many of those about these days.

Well I can only assume that a certain Guernsey registered aircraft is no longer a Commander 112 - otherwise should it have been following the Thames heli lane from Walton to London Bridge?!

Edit: 2-RACE definitely an Agusta 109... ADSB Ex needs to update their database!
