Noticed the PC-6, think I saw a pic of it at Duxford last week. Great type, always used to be a Swiss one parked near the threshold of 14 at Nairobi Wilson whenever my school bus passed it circa 1970/1. Turbine or piston, no idea...

Coupla Buffs having fun down to the SE of Bordeaux... (well, I can see one and they usually run around in pairs...)
Edit: heading back towards Blighty, current course heading NE past Le Mans towards Evreux - where will they head over the UK?
Edit: tracking in via the Needles and Bournemouth...

Out walking the dog about 5.30 in Potton, Beds when I heard a heavy helicopter flying overhead - initially I was unable to see it and it didn't show up on Flight Radar - but when it came into view I estimate that it was about 1000 ft and flying slowly compared with the R22's and the Chinnooks we see regularly. From the large sponsons and the single horizontal rear wing on the port side I think it was a CH53 but instead of the usual military green or grey it was white and appeared to have civilian markings.
Are there any civilian CH53's in the UK or was it in arctic colouring?

Sounds more like an S-92 though the stabiliser is on the starboard side.
Edit: snap! :-)

I think the same helicopter came over Saffron Walden late afternoon. I think it was a corporate S92? We get quite a few swanky helicopters overhead, usually heading to/from Newmarket….
One of the Fairford B-52's flew over central London a few hours ago and seems to be headed back to do the same again. Now, if only the clouds will cooperate.....

There's a Beech C90A King Air, reg N342ER pootling around East of Memphis. It's altitude varying between 1000ft and 2300ft. It's number 1 on FR24 with 180K viewing right now.

The King Air was apparently landed in a bean field and the pilot is helping the local constabulary with their enquiries. The Buff landed more conventionally at Fairford after a pass along the front at the Bournemouth Airshow. All's Well That Ends Well...

Well the clag's quite high. Nice view of a pair of KC-135s returning to Mildenhall at 16000' from a wee hours assignation in the Malta vicinity...
