With one Watchkeeper already in the Mediterranean, hopefully it should be “circling over the sea”. Obviously the locally based WK are, unlike their Welsh colleagues at Aberporth, now fitted with ADS-B.

As usual, always interesting to see the re-routings for LHR/LGW traffic to avoid all the CB activity in the SE area. Current top candidate for "routing of the day" is an Aegean A321 which instead of a Biggin/Ockham arrival has routed Abbeville to Chichester, Winchester, Wokingham, a left hand orbit in the Tring area, back down to Northolt/Uxbridge before joining the left hand downwind for 09L. Looks like a line of potential CBs will be crossing the airport soon, though most of the strikes are currently to the south/south west of the airport... Edit: ooops, bunch of strikes at the eastern end of the airport!

Several Gatwick arrivals from the east have flown downwind for 08 to the north of the airport, usually the preserve of departing traffic! Also a Gatwick hold (G-GATK) flown over the Channel.

Lightning Maps...

DARK23 & 24 noted here a bit earlier, presumably en route. Both using invalid ICAO24 addresses, as is their wont.

A Coastguard S92 dropped into our local hospital during the late morning. This heli was probably from Humberside, although I can't confirm that right now.
Hope whoever the casualty is makes a full recovery
