I think another first type for me, Jet Ranger X G-IDFE. Sounded just like an earlier Jet Banger and from half a mile away I couldn't visually detect the differences!

An Icelandair 737Max into LHR earlier. I'm not sure if it was the first time, but I'd not seen one before, didn't even know they had any! Love their 757's

Icelandair used their Max 8s reasonably regularly from May 2018 until the grounding and resumed a few days ago.

They have a single Max 9 (so far), but that variant has yet to put in an appearance at LHR.

I recall seeing an Air Canada Max at LHR possibly doing the St John's service.

To date, five airlines have operated to LHR with the Max 8: Air Canada, Icelandair, LOT, Royal Air Maroc and THY.

That's surprised me, perhaps I just wasn't paying as much attention to the LHR movements before in comparison since a year ago when there was plenty of time to do so. I suppose in the last year most of the European airlines have used wide bodies on the short haul routes, so fewer chances to see the 737Max's.

SHJ - I am surprised you hadn't heard that the 737Max has been grounded since March 2019 until just recently, hence none could have operated into Heathrow in the last year. Before that, 737Max deliveries began in May 2017 and for example Air Canada used one daily into Heathrow from May 2018 until the grounding.

Saying the other day I hadn't seen a MAX yet, thinking about it, I probably did see Air Canada examples once or twice, operating the St Johns service.

It has indeed had several spells flying for the RAAF, the most recent ending about 4 months ago, though sadly I don't think it ever actually sported a kangaroo roundel.

In the last month I've spotted 3 different light aircraft showing up on trackers in suburban neighbourhoods. First thought was that it was one of the anomalies that turn up from time to time, but on doing some detective work 2 of the 3 seem to be at the residences of the registered owners.

So, it is possible that the wings were taken off and transported to the properties, assuming they have garden/garage space, but I think that this is unlikely. Might I be seeing some electronic part of the aircrafts that encompasses the transponder and they are being powered up from time to time ? Curious.

Two of them aren't far from me - the Europa comes apart quite easily, not sure whether the RV's wings are so easily removed, but I suspect they are receiving maintenance/mods at the owner's abode while lockdown prevented travel to the airydrome...

Don't some of them do detective work from height , looking at garden house buildings etc. looking for people who live in these, out buildings[ thermal , heat sources ] - who should NOT live there , especially on cold clear frosty nights ..
Don't forget those ' warm ' cannabis factories also ...
