Regarding the "RJ" sortie, on return it did some circuits before landing at Mildenhall rather than Waddo. Also Id'd as an K35R on "ADSB", rather strangely.

I havent seen much in the way of unsual craft butt he last few days there seems to have been an uptick in LHR outbounds via MID or SAM as well as OCK inbounds, nothign like normal of course but noticeably different from the silence of weeks ago. Also more and more overflight contrails so perhaps things are picking up a litt

Definitely more movements all over the London TMA in the last couple of weeks. Perhaps it's just because of people determined to have a holiday elsewhere and will tail off after August, or perhaps it's the gradual reintroduction of capacity to meet demand.

Only one BA A319 left at Bournemouth. The one in BEA colours. Reminds me of the BEA Paris Viscount flights in the early 60s.

As a spotter living near Heathrow in May 68 I remember listening to airband and hearing BEA Vanguards coming out of Le Bourget calling London when they were still well in French airspace. If French ATC went on strike today would BA still be operating in and out of de Gaulle?

Hartington

I think when French ATC were on strike back then military controllers were used until there was an accident and government stopped it.
As there are relatively few mil atc compared to civil perhaps the UK bound BEA Vanguards were quickly shuffled of to London Airways even if still over France. It was probably ok with limited amounts of traffic and once clear of the Paris area to do that.

Unlikely to work with todays traffic volumes of course

Looks like it. There's another rotation planned for tomorrow morning and one for Sunday evening, same for the following weekend but nothing in between.

Would the economics work on such a short trip on such a large aircraft ? I'm sure the passenger numbers outside of holiday season wouldn't justify it.

They should have kept the other A318. Mind you, they were all business class weren't they?
