Vulcanair P-68C Observer 2 OY-VNS has been on a north - south sector about 12 times all morning , and continuing , between Great Missenden and Frimley . Aerial survey ? digital survey Bioflight @ ~ 1300 feet . Out of Oxford airport ..

The Mustang G-SHWN is now in a USAAF scheme having been resprayed at Duxford earlier this year. Looks very nice!

Either - Pax Britannia, Treadigraph or SpringHeeledJacked ( think we live / lived nearby each other ) mentioned earlier in the month on this thread, the , London CTR. BAGSHOT SW corner of London Control Zone

Sure some aircraft mistake the high BT tower and NOT Bagshot TOWN as a VRP - just found the article , interesting.
I know there have been more than a few airspace infringements over the years on our SW corner ...

The gorgeous Dragonfly G-AEDU has been out for an airing from Biggin this afternoon. Had a single Comanche nip over here a little while back, haven't seen one in ages, though there are a couple of Twin Coms very active at Biggin.

that was indeed interesting . The BT mast a relic of the pre fibre optic days when these towers were scattered around London at the limit of line of sight microwave radio systems from the BT tower. Nowadays it is mostly cellular antenna altho it is often described as a TV relay as well. It does seem extraordinary that the CAA would pick on a village-one that is pretty easy to see given the large areas of open land around it , RMA and various military ranges and the M3 rather than an enormous steel lattice tower sticking up in the middle of nowhere complete with red warning lights. On the internet Google page about it there is a comment someone can see it far as far away as High Wycombe .
Looking at the map the tower is in the middle of a largely inaccessible area adjacent to military land and if I remember my local geography sits on top of the highest point in the area which is already pretty high up for Southern England at over 400 ft above sea level where I live . In summer there is a lot of transit traffic skirting to the western edge of the London TMA some fly close to the mast some over the eastern part of Camberley itself. I am moving Somerset soon and will miss all the interesting oddities I have seen over the years, BBMF and other warbirds and perhaps the most unusual a JU 52 .

I spent more time than is good for me on ADS-B last night mesmerised by a RAF C130 out of Brize appearing to fly VERY low over Sussex and Kent; the altitude at times showed as 50 feet, although more normally between 100 and 250. It flew out over Margate and between the windfarms into the North Sea, still low until eventually coming back in over Norfolk and climbing to 10,000 feet - at which point I went to bed. If the altitude readings are anywhere near correct then a number of Sussex and Kentish folk are going to have had a rude early morning awakening last night. I'm almost jealous I wasn't one of them!

Memories are just as important as the here and now!
I was at boarding school a few miles south of Godalming (no, not Charterhouse!) and one Saturday afternoon a couple of us decided to cycle up to Blackbushe, about 15 miles as the crow flies. Two others decided to join us and as we reached the A31 atop the Hog's Back, one asked "how much further" - I pointed to the Bagshot mast, barely discernible on the horizon and said, "about level with there but further to the west". Groan... Another time, we took a packed lunch after Sunday chapel and rode a round-robin to Lasham, Odiham and Blackbushe with a peer over the fence at Farnborough on the way back. Forget how far, maybe 50 miles.
Back to the present day, just been visited by a sporty little high-winged homebuilt (?) taildragger with perhaps an O-200 under the bonnet - no idea what it was and not showing up on ADSB. Might have been a Citabria but think I'd have recognised one of those.
Also an Italian AF 767 heading up towards Strumble and points west.

I guess it would be quite fun to find a recording and correlate the readings to the actual positions. I have no doubt our friends in light blue knew exactly what they were doing :-).

Not sure what the height represents - also how accurate the track is, wonder if he was slightly further to the NW following the Stour?

One of Surrey Hills' gliders thermalling over my house - fairly unusual. I'm full of hot air... Hope the Cherokee that went more or less underneath had seen it!

Jet Provost out to play just now over the Stour Estuary.Going back to low flying RAF C130s about 3 weeks ago there was a pair in close proximinity around the Norfolk and Suffolk coast at 200-250' at about about 2300 - 2330.As they approached Felixstowe they climbed away and turned out out sea and I lost interest.

Last night Mrs Mac told me of the 3 high flying jets with vapour trails, in V formation tracking NW- SE across northern UK around 19.00pm, as I was calling her from Germany and she mentioned it . She said they were loud but high. Do not know if anybody else noticed them. We had a Hurricane I think at the weekend on Saturday but off to the west of us in Yorkshire when I was back, but not overhead.
