RAAF C-17 heading towards London overhead Hastings... turned WNW, inbound Brize perhaps.
I had read that and thought "Meh...RAF, everyday occurrence", but now I've seen that it had an extra 'A', I'm curious as to why it's so far from home. Going Stateside for Mx, or bringing Castlemaine XXXX in for the Xmas party ?

Two An-26 again, almost side-by-side at 20,000ft, overhead east London just now, at 18.00. UR-CQD and 'QE, another run from Birmingham into Europe. Audible but IMC.

That makes sense, heard it over Cheltenham but couldn't see it but last time I saw them take off they were miles high even just a few miles out of Fairford.

What I believe is a B-52 "Cake 11" has just flown past me inbound Fairford. Where is the nice weather when ya need it! Now holding between Cheltenham and Worcester. Love to have seen that but it's 10/10ths here and very soggy.

Just had an AN-26 drone over too...

On the radar this morning, the first of two refurbished ex-Avianca Brasil A330-200s for the Armée de l'Air, delivered last week with another due shortly, to replace the French Government's two A340s which are due to be retired.

Interesting routeing - from CDG to Shannon via Keflavik.

Reportedly diverted in with an engine failure, hence the prolonged hold

We couldn't see it Cheltenham despite it being overhead. It's been grey and drizzly and when I looked it was squawking 7700 so assumed something up. It had only come from the US this morning via Italy I believe.

Ah, the first post lockdown Spitfire I've heard out of Biggin. Lovely long listen as she went west then south for a Gatwick transit. Just came back in, aural enjoyment assisted by the brisk easterly breeze!

For once some blue sky when An-24 UR-CQE passed overhead London just now, presumably yet another of its daily Birmingham to Ostrava flights.

Ostrava, Slovakia, is where the Kia European car assembly plant is. When the Korean car industry was getting going a good while ago they had a lot of design and engineering input from companies and individuals in Birmingham, where the onetime British Leyland was in comparison running down. I guess the considerable car component industry there still makes a notable amount for them.

I heard CQE, roused me from a post-prandial nap! Think I saw some indications of sun too.

Israeli AF 707 passed over a short while back, inbound Prestwick. The CV-22s appear to be invading Monaco with a C-130 in pursuit.

Off for an amble...

An Irish air corps Pilatus overhead LHR now, having had a trip from Norway earlier to Ireland. Quiet but audible.

I think SpyPilot was making a word-play joke (in a Canadian accent) ;-)

No, joke. It's the correct pronunciation. I told an American friend, going there on business, that there is only one "t" in Toronto!
