Farnborough Opening Times - Friday
Just wondering when the "gates" open for Fab Friday this year ? The shuttle buses appear to be starting from the stations at 7.00am but the advertised Trade Show opening is 9.30am.
If you get an early bus, will you be allowed into the show rather than queue up for 2 hours ?

Wow SHK, how much do you drink and eat inside the showground?
I'm pretty sure the cost of running an airshow of this size is why the cost of the tickets are so high. But yet again, we have the same old moaners saying the same thing every year (or two in the case of Farnborough). Yes yes, in the 70s the sky was black due to so many Hunters and Phantoms screaming around the skies at Mach 6. And entry was only 20p. We get it.

It also doesn't last as long as the display on the public days, and it doesn't vary much up to and including Thursday, so if you can get hold of a copy of Monday's programme once it's published, Tuesday's will be very similar.
Dave, you cynic ! Don't you know those VIP's are busy thrashing out last minute orders for millions of $ worth of aircraft that clearly wouldn't otherwise get ordered if there was no Farnborough (replace with Paris on odd years) show.
Why the industry buys into this '$xxx billions of business done today...' nonsense never ceases to baffle me...

When I used to plan the display, (1976 to 2004 incl) I was always asked not to schedule 'noisy' aircraft before about 2.30pm because it would disturb those still having lunch.
From 2004, 'Farnborough International' decided to employ someone else to arrange the display. He had different views from me, claiming he was an experienced display 'designer' and refused to accept any input from me.
I went to the display today and it was fine, although only civilian airliners for the most part. The 'usual' throwing of large chunks of aerodynamic metal around the sky was performed with aplomb by the pilots, but somehow the feeling at the end was "was that it ?".....There was the unannounced flypast of an F-35 and Typhoon pair at the very beginning of the display, but they came and went in a flash (certainly before fumble fingers could take a photo!).
