Pirouette during landing

This must have been fun. I've spun a car on an icy road but never done it in an aircraft! Quite neat to end up still on the runway and able to taxi to the apron.
Incident: Cityjet CRJ9 at Turku on Oct 25th 2017, pirouette during landing

This is a case where antilock braking is the last thing you want. If you do not lock your brakes, you are likely to pivot anyway - but with a bit of steering that could send you off the edge of the runway.

Of course a jet also has thrust and reverse thrust. I will leave it others to decide what level of skill would have been required to deal with the situation that way.

Is it just me or does that video not look realtime? The timestamp does go normal pace, but the plane looks like it's going awfully slow haha

Edit:

This isn't the same incident right? as the timestamp shows 2016 and is posted on FB last january

The video shows a plane on a taxiway, not a runway.

Its not that uncommon going for a spin on the apron in Finland Sweden etc.

The aprons are basically BA poor for the whole of the winter.

Seen a 737-800 do a 270 spin while trying to turn off the taxiway he must have been under 5 knts when he started the turn. And the front started sliding when he tried to centre up and the back came round.

About 15 mins later the ops vehicle came onto the apron with the Mu unit behind it and it promptly went for a spin as well and jack knifed the trailer MU meter and went into a snow bank.

They put hot sand down after that.

The video isn’t even the correct aircraft type.

I am realising the things that don't add up totally in the wrong way hahaha, I'm quite embarrassed about how many things I've missed
