What's happening at Manchester... (SVA123)

Any idea what's going on? Some weird looking holding patterns taking place by SVA123!

Is that a lot of fuel burning at the end of a flight? I can understand a departure and return requirement for it.

Just been offered VOR DME to 23L as reported surface dry, going to give it a go.

probarbly a max weight departure from Saudi where the fuel is cheap meaning minimum fuel uplift at Manchester. fine if you flaps work on landing.

Thats quite a hold. 14 laps round the track at the moment.
Just as well stay up there and get the landing weight as low as practical.

Seems to be safely on the ground now, per FlightRadar.

Taxiing back to the terminal, so obviously not even overheated brakes.
Just a normal day at the office...
Except that it has not been 9 to 5, but almost 10 hours. They must have really filled it up down in saudi arabia...

Currently holding, fire trucks in tow, on the taxiway between 23L and 23R.

Sporty looking landing, and he was (obviously) heavy on the brakes, but a good job all round.

Isn't there a restriction on fuel dumping in the 787 at flaps 20 or greater?

Anyone know if there is some sort of interlock between the left and right Flaps, to ensure they both travel the same amount?

The rules require that, so it should be there.
25.701 Flap and Slat Interconnection
...the motion of flaps or slats on opposite sides of the plane of symmetry must be synchronised by a mechanical interconnection or approved equivalent means.

Maybe they did not want to dump ?
The airline said there was an issue with the trailing edge flaps and it was waiting for a dry runway.
