Iberia A346 Mad - Trieste

Was sitting on a beach, between Venice and Trieste... lots of small Papa-Charlies buzzing up and down the coast, which I was enjoying.

Then suddenly noticed a largish airliner flying down the coast below 10k ft. like it was preparing to land. But flying away from Venice. Quick check on FR24 and it was IB2922 a flight from Mad to Trieste. I guess it was a charter, because it took off an hour or so later back to Madrid. Couldn't find anything in the news about any big events etc... and aircraft the size of an A346 are not at all common into a small regional airport like Trieste. I'd incorrectly assumed that there was some sort of maintenance facility at Trieste airport, and perhaps the aircraft was being decommissioned.

Charter?

Might be connected with a cruise ship.
