I think the OP is referring to the fact that they each did only 3 rotations over a couple of days before returning to the lessor.

Out of interest, why wouldn't Iberia cover the shortfall, as they are part of the same company (IAG) ???

The simple answer is that Iberia have a full flying programme to fulfil.

OTOH due to events in the Gulf Qatar "shorthaul" are somewhat short of work at the moment, and are therefore have airframes and crew available to be used elsewhere.

In view that they are wet leased Qatar must have a huge "back up" of crews to keep 9 A320s flying 2 or 3 times a day 6 or 7 days a week with hotel accommodation ect and does anyone know who is doing the maintenance and ground handling of the planes ? If WW and Co are willing to go to all that expense I fear the Mixed Fleet are on a hiding to nothing in spite of their miserable contracts. Hope I'm proved wrong, has anyone flown on a Qatar A320 doing a BA service during the troubles ?I bet they don't pay for their Sandwiches and drinks and that will be an embarrassment for BA when the troubles are over.

They new the contract was miserable then they made a bad choice joining. Many more occupations are payed a lot less for equally responsible jobs. I guess as another strike starts on the 19th July the Qatar fleet will be staying on with replacements for the 200 crew present. The Qatar service does indeed give out gratis snacks and drinks.

The cost of the industrial action plus the IT outage must surely bring about some management changes, if not curtailing Alex Cruz's CEO position. Mind it seems to me that big businesses care very little about embarrassment, not a great deal about the customer and nothing for the staff!

Surprised I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, earlier.
