Abort and Go-Round @ BHX 12.3.17

Spectators Balcony (Spotters Corner) If you're not a professional pilot but want to discuss issues about the job, this is the best place to loiter. You won't be moved on by 'security' and there'll be plenty of experts to answer any questions.

Wiggy:

I fear you are wasting your time.

One of my more colourful American flight engineers had an expression that went along the lines of "this is like trying to wipe your backside with a hula-hoop. There's just no bloody end to it".

Bail out while you still have a chance.

In fact, the OP's original question was 'loaded' when you view his subsequent #11 where he revealed to us that he was passenger on the subject flight, wouldn't you say?

It will be a pity if it comes to it that all PAs are prefaced: "WITHOUT PREJUDICE" - or indeed follow the example of that Dan-Air captain - I think - whose only PAs were: "Half Way!"

Thank you all very much for your posts - both content and tone have been very illuminating. I didn't really do much flying until I was in my forties (couldn't afford it). But since then I've been flying constantly for work purposes for 30 years, and I'd never encountered anything like that. Still, that's how statistics work, I suppose.
