Birmingham BHX Spotting - info request
Afternoon all.. new to PP so please be gentle and kind!...
I know you can access via sheldon park one end of the runway and get really good landing and approach views... I'm just wondering if anybody has any information on great spotting locations to get the same view from the other end.. end where carpark 5 is as below... the fence is annoying!

The trick with the 33 end is actually to be much further back and much higher, also to be armed with a good telescopic lens
Check out flugsnug on youtube, his videos give the appearance that he's sat right at the end of 33 but it's just not possible with the hills that are right next to the A45.
There's also the long stay car park which gives some great views but you'll need a step ladder or something to stand on. Security are fine with it as long as you aren't leaning over the fence etc, but always be cautious, it's a live aerodrome after all!

There are a number of public footpaths that cross fields or farm land to the West of the B4438 very close to Bickenhill. It is a very fast road so be careful parking, and also stick to any marked paths, don't wander over crops. After a couple of minutes walk, you get stunning views of the runway plus landings or take-offs right over your head.

coldair, it's still there but only used for education and private events. They did open it briefly for the one off initial Emirates A380 visit, and on a couple of other occasions since.
