Avro Anson

Anyone any idea why one of these has flown over our house near Southport 3 times in the last hour? Great looking plane and nice noise, but confused as to why?

We have a few aircraft from the Shuttleworth collection visiting here at BAE Systems Warton. The Anson and a Blackburn B2 have both been airborne this evening.

If it`s blue and silver, then it`s an Avro X1X,not strictly an Anson ,and belongs to BaE...maybe a commemoration ...?

Cheers - get all sorts of planes over, unusual for one to fly over 4 times! Any others likely to be over at all?

We're having a heritage week at BAE which is why we have the visiting aircraft. A few lucky employees have been given flights in them which may have been this evening.

A nice looking plane and subject of the best "affordable" Airfix kit....lots of movable parts! Made several when young, and another more recently which for some inexplicable reason (apart from good taste) I decided to paint in BOAC livery!

A "proper" Anson, seen earlier this year under restoration at the South Australian Aviation Museum:

Now this is a REAL Anson! Beautiful Mk1 which I was fortunate enough to see at Omaka in 2016. The detail in the restoration is of absolutely top quality.
